Tournaments
Acton Soccer Club encourages coaches to take teams to tournaments.
It is important to recognize that our players are all Recreational, and so teams that we can enter in tournaments are Recreational (House League) or All-Star (recreational players chosen from their House League teams). All-Star is not the same as Select. Select means that a team is chosen from players who registered for house league to form an intentionally strong team, and they play together all season. Acton Soccer Club doesn’t have select or competitive (rep) teams.

In order to enter the tournament, you need to do some bureaucratic things.
- Someone has to drive to PHSA office in Mississauga to buy player books.
- Once these are filled with players birth dates and photos, the registrar has to initial them (to show they agree with the information in the registration database).
- Then the books are taken back to PHSA offices in Mississauga to be stamped. You will also need a signed team roster, a Team Information Sheet, and an Application to Travel form, if the tournament is out of the District.
All this takes a few days, and the application to travel has to be complete before you can enter the tournament. Typically, you have to start two weeks before the tournament to get everything done on time. Three Acton coaches did it successfully in the 2003 season (One girls club team, one boys All-Star, one girls All-Star), and all thought it was well worth the effort.
