Outdoor Season 2006

Once again, the number of players grew for 2006. This year saw less growth than the last couple of years. We took a hard line on having no under-age players in Under-5, which reduced numbers in that age group. We had found that too many of the three-to-four year olds were simply not ready for the game.

Indoor Soccer

The indoor season for 2005/06 had to be cancelled. The reasons were related to cost and popularity. The school gyms were too expensive at weekends: including janitorial fee, Acton High School gym is $120/hr on a Sunday, and more expensive if you book less than 3 hours. Mid-week, there were not enough youth or adult registrants in 2004/05.

This year, a few keen adults asked that we run an indoor league mid-week, and so we did so. This is being run to cover costs, and is very successful in providing fun in a fairly relaxed format.

In 2007, the Acton Agricultural Society facility will open, and we expect indoor soccer to be a very popular activity in Halton Hills, without doubt eclipsing previous records for indoor soccer participation.
