OUR BUSINESS LINKS

Acton Soccer Club is pleased to work with local businesses in several ways. We keep our suppliers as local as we can - uniforms are Canadian, we buy equipment and supplies largely through Acton stores, our special event food comes from Acton stores, and so on. Below we will describe:

SPONSORSHIP

Our Organization

Acton Soccer Club is a non-profit organization which has been providing soccer to youth players in Acton for well over twenty years. More details about Acton Soccer Club are included on the page

http://www.tremblefish.com/acs/stats.htm

In 2006, Acton Soccer Club had about 770 players in about 64 teams. Each team had a business sponsor, varying in size from large concerns such as Tim Horton's (who sponsored the entire U5 program through Timbits Soccer), and Canadian Tire, to single-person private companies in Acton.

Benefits of Sponsorship

The sponsorship ($250 / team) approximately covers the costs of the uniforms for the team, and in return, the business is associated with a community team.  The team sponsor name is printed across the front of the uniform, and is used to identify the team. As a thank-you, a mounted team photo is provided to the sponsor.

In addition, the local newspapers give coverage to Acton Soccer Club, the amount of coverage varies by team as someone associated with the team has to take the time to write the articles. Some recent press articles are available on the web site in the Game Reports blog at http://www.tremblefish.com/acs/coachblog.htm , and below are some examples of the coverage we received this year:

OUR BUSINESS PARTNERS

ome Acton businesses and other organizations help Acton Soccer Club, and their partnership deserves special recognition.

Store Registrations:

Dollar Stretcher Daze (Main St, Acton, in the Giant Tiger Plaza) acts as a central point where customers can register at their convenience. This is a great benefit to both the registrar and to the person registering: please look around this excellent stores once you have registered!

Cup Weekend:

Acton Sobey’s, M&M Meats, and Maple Lodge Farms all contributed to the food for our hungry players on the main cup weekend, with thanks to Godfathers Pizza on U5 / U6 / U8 finals day.

Publicity Partners:

We must thank the New Tanner, the Georgetown Independent, and Tremblefish Internet Solutions for their friendly and cooperative manner, which is always much more than we could hope for in a business relationship. These companies are flexible and helpful, and understand that the volunteers in the Soccer Club need a bit of leeway.

Facility Partners:

Thanks for a helping hand to the Halton District School Board and McKenzie-Smith Bennett Public School for the use of storage facilities at the mini-soccer fields, to Heritage Acton for other storage requirements, Acton Motors for services in receiving and temporary storage of our field paint, and to the Acton Legion for free use of their board room for our routine meetings.

Thanks are due to Acton Legion for use of their facility for photo day.

Soccer Development:

We found working with Wein Way Sports of Milton for our coaching clinics was a great success, and the short notice didn’t faze them: the quality of coaching clinics was excellent, and we will use them again.
